Ichthys Leather Bookmark | Personalized Christian Bible Verse Bookmark

This handmade leather bookmark features the ancient Christian Ichthys symbol — the fish — engraved at the top, followed by a simple line divider and a generous space for your own words.

The lower section is intentionally left open for personalization.

Add a favorite Bible verse, prayer, meaningful quotation, name, date, or a few words that you want to carry with you every time you open your book.

The bookmark is approximately 3.5 × 12 cm, but the final proportions may be adjusted slightly according to the length of your engraving, so the finished piece remains visually balanced.

Warm Brown Oiled Vachetta (Sample)

Smooth, warm and elegant, with a traditional leather character.

This is my recommended choice for longer messages that require a smaller engraving font. Its cleaner surface allows the text to remain easy to read even when more words need to fit.

**Sandalwood Brown Crazy Horse Leather**

Rustic, warm and naturally textured, with the relaxed character of Crazy Horse leather.

This is a greatchoice for shorter quotes or messages where a larger engraving font can be used. The texture gives the bookmark a wonderfully aged, bookish character.

The reverse side of both leathers is naturally light brown, providing a clean and warm background for your personalized engraving.

The Ichthys

The fish is one of the oldest and most recognizable symbols associated with Christianity.

The Greek word ΙΧΘΥΣ means “fish” and was traditionally understood as an acronym connected with Jesus Christ, making the simple fish shape much more than a decorative motif.

For this bookmark, I kept the symbol deliberately simple.

The Ichthys sits at the top like a small personal mark, while the space beneath it belongs to you.

Longer texts can be engraved in a smaller font, while shorter messages allow for a larger, more prominent engraving.

Maker's tip: If your chosen text is too long, needing maybe three lines of text, I recommend the warm brown oiled vachetta. For shorter texts that allow a larger font, the sandalwood brown Crazy Horse makes a beautiful rustic choice.
