Ring Holder Bracelets: How to Choose the Right Design for Your Ring

If you want to keep wearing a ring but not on your finger, a ring holder bracelet can be a practical everyday solution.

But not all ring holder bracelets are built the same way because different people and different lifestyles have different needs, also different reasons to wear that ring on a bracelet.

(I wrote about those reasons here)

Some of my designs are best for a fixed wrist size. Some adjust easily when you need it. Some work particularly well with unusual or large rings. Some are designed for maximum discretion, while others leave more room for engraving.

And if you don't want the ring on your wrist at all, there is also a ring holder pendant.

Here are the different ring holder designs I make, and what each one is best suited for.

1. The Simple Two-Button Ring Holder Bracelet

This is the simplest ring holder bracelet in the collection: a leather band with two closures that secure the ring on either side.

It is available in two widths, approximately 1.8 cm that you can view here, and 1.2 cm - check it out here.

The narrower version has a more discreet, delicate appearance and is particularly suitable when you want a smaller bracelet for everyday wear or work.

The wider version gives you more space underneath for engraving.

Best for

- A simple, straightforward ring holder

- People who know their wrist measurement accurately

- A discreet everyday bracelet

- Work situations where a smaller bracelet is preferable (I can reduce the width to 1cm if needed, exactly to the button's size)

- Longer hidden engraving on the wider version

The wider band gives more room on the underside if you need it. I could engrave two lines of text, and if needed, adjust the width and give 1-2mm extra to fit three lines.

What's good to know about this ring holder bracelet design:

This design is not adjustable.

Accurate wrist measurement is important when ordering. Check this size guide to help you, and read here why  giving the size of a bracelet you already have instead of measuring your wrist, is not a good idea.

The final length of this bracelet depends on leather thickness, its folded edges and ring size; the usual diameter is 2 cm, but in case of a very small or very large ring, please let me know.

The ring will touch your skin.

The ring remains exposed within the leather construction, so it can touch the skin. I can cover the metallic parts (the undersides of the closures), but generally, in case of skin sensitivity I would advise against this particular design. You might want to take a look at the adjustable designs below.

2. The Adjustable Two-Strip Ring Holder Bracelet

This ring holder bracelet design separates the two jobs of a ring holder bracelet.

The bottom band adjusts around your wrist, while two separate leather strips hold the ring.

That makes it a good choice when wrist size can change (example during pregnancy), if you prefer different fits every now and then, or when you want the ring separated from your skin.

The two upper strips also allow contrasting leather colors, and the relatively clear underside of the bracelet gives you more room for a longer hidden message.

The dropdown menu gives some color combinations, but fee free to mix and match or get in touch for something special.

Best for

- Changing wrist size

- Weight gain or weight loss

- Swelling

- People who don't want the ring touching their skin

- More color combinations are possible

 - Longer hidden engraving than the simple snaps band

- Rings that work well with two separate holding strips, such as unusual shapes and thicknesses

What's good to know about this ring holder bracelet design:

If you have a rather unsual ring, it's better to provide a picture of it or rough dimensions (such as diameter and thickness).

A very small ring will add too much tension on the strips if not sized correctly. A too large ring will move loosely instead of staying in the center. What we aim for here is a tight and firm, but comfortable resting place for the ring.

3. Single-Strip Ring Holder Bracelet

This ring holder bracelet is approx 1.8-2cm wide and uses one continuous upper leather strip instead of two separate strips. The ring sits inside the central construction and the bracelet is adjustable.

Less materials, less metal hardware, simpler construction. The width can be adjusted to a more minimalistic look. It works well with any type of ring, regardless of size and shape. However, if your ring is rather wide than average bands, it will be great if you let me know.

Best for

- Unusual rings

- Inherited or sentimental rings with distinctive shapes

- Rings with large settings

- Thick or less conventional rings

- People who want an adjustable wrist fit

- Anyone who wants the ring structurally captured rather than simply held between two separate strips

What's good to know about this ring holder bracelet design:

The central construction divides the underside of the bracelet, so this cuff is better for short engravings such as initials, names or dates than for a long hidden message.

Black leather also has fewer engraving possibilities with this construction, but with two layers of leather, more combinations and mix & match are possible, such as the honey brown & lavender or the black & elephant gray versions.

If you're unsure whether your ring will work, a photo is often more useful than trying to describe it.

4. The Minimalist Watchband Ring Holder

This minimalist ring holder bracelet is the narrower version of the single-strip construction with more options for adjusting and different closure mechanism.

It has a discreet 1.4 cm bottom layer, a 1.2 cm upper strip and a watchband-style closure with four adjustment positions. The securing loop serves to tuck the edge just like a normal wristwatch.

The result is a more elegant ring holder with plenty of room to adjust the fit. This design works best particularly with highly active lifestyles, many reasons for adjusting frequently, and long hours at the office sitting on the desk: this closure doesn't sit right under your wrist, but slightly at the side, so nothing gets annoying there.

Best for

- A minimalist, second-skin felt wear

- Frequently adjusting or wrist size changes due to pregnancy or weight loss/gain

- Active lifestyles

- More physically demanding jobs

- Office jobs where you spend long hours on the desk holding the mouse

What's good to know about this ring holder design:

As with the larger single-strip construction, the central design limits engraving space. Short messages work best.

As a two-layered cracelet, it offers more options in color combinations.

This is design is created specifically for people who need more flexibility in their everyday wear.

5. The 4-Sizes Adjustable Watchband Ring Holder Bracelet

This is the newest ring holder bracelet construction in the collection.

The lower leather layer wraps around the wrist without closing. A narrower upper strip does both jobs: it holds the ring and closes the bracelet.

It has four adjustment positions and a small stud closure, creating an especially clean design with very little hardware.

The bottom layer can also be made narrower when a smaller profile is more appropriate for your ring.

Best for

- Weight gain and weight loss

- Fequent adjustings

- Gym and exercise

- Physically demanding work

- Long hours at a desk

- A very clean, minimal everyday design

- Anyone who wants as little hardware and as few separate closures as possible

- Contrasting leather colors and flexibility

What's good to know about this ring holder design:

The width of the lower layer is made based on the average ring diameter, approx 2 cm. I can make it narrower or wider if you need it.

Again, a rivet in the middle splits the underside area, so a shorter engraved message works better - unless you are okay with me adjusting the bottom layer accordignly to fit something longer.

Flexible with mix & match leather colors approach.

6. The Leather Ring Holder Pendant

Not everyone wants to wear a ring on their wrist.

The leather ring holder pendant is designed for exactly that.

A narrow leather strip creates one loop for your chain or cord and another loop that holds the ring. You can use your own chain or cord, or choose one of the necklace options available with the pendant.

It is currently available in dark brown and black, with a casual, everyday look.

You can wear the small spring button facing outward or turn it toward your chest for a much simpler pendant appearance.

Best for

- Wearing a ring close without putting it on your wrist

- People who don't wear bracelets (who does that??)

- Work situations where a bracelet isn't practical

- Anyone who prefers wearing the ring around their neck

- A simple everyday pendant

- Wearing the ring close to the chest

If you're still unsure, send me a photo of your ring before ordering and let's talk like good old friends.

The shape, thickness and setting of a ring can make one construction much more suitable than another, and I'd rather help you choose the right one than have you guess.

A ring holder is something you are likely to wear every day. The right design isn't simply the one that looks best in a photograph.

It's the one that works with your ring, your body and your life.
